Introduction to SwimSafer
In Singapore, the SwimSafer Programme is the national water safety syllabus designed to equip every child with vital swimming and survival skills. It is the only certification recognised by Sport Singapore (SportSG) and the Ministry of Education (MOE), making it a key milestone in every childโs swimming journey.
Previously, SwimSafer assessments were arranged by individual coaches and swim schools, with flexible timings and different venues. From July 2025, assessments will follow the centralised CAMS format, introducing new processes for registration, theory quizzes, results, and certificates for all SwimSafer participants across Singapore.
๐ก What is CAMS?
The SwimSafer Centralised Assessment Management System (CAMS) is a national initiative designed to enhance the quality and experience of SwimSafer assessments, including streamlining processes, standardizing operations, improving accessibility and transparency, and ensuring consistency for parents, participants, instructors, and swim schools.

Things to Note:
- ๐ Registration โ Students need a CAMS account to be registered for any SwimSafer assessment.
- ๐ฉโ๐ฆ Profiles โ Each child will have a dedicated CAMS account, linked to a unique email, to access theory quizzes, view results, and retrieve certificates.
- ๐ Venues โ As of July 2025, only five swimming complexes are approved for testing.
- ๐ Online Theory Quiz โ Must be completed on the CAMS Platform as part of the assessment.
- ๐ Certification โ Results and certificates are now issued digitally via the CAMS portal.
At Sttitude Swim School, we make this transition simple by handling mass registrations, keeping parents updated, and ensuring every child is ready to excel on test day.
๐ Registration for Assessment
All SwimSafer CAMS assessment registrations must be completed on the CAMS Platform. To make this easier for parents, Sttitude Swim School will manage a mass registration process for all our students.

Hereโs what’s changed:
- All participants must have a CAMS account to book a SwimSafer test.
- Each account must use a unique email address as the CAMS User ID.
- Registrations must be validated by the SwimSafer coach assigned to the participant.
- Participants not registered on the CAMS Platform will not be able to register or be registered for any SwimSafer assessments.
- Singpass login is no longer required.

- Bukit Batok Swimming Complex
- HeartBeat@Bedok Swimming Complex
- Jalan Besar Swimming Complex
- Yishun Swimming Complex
- Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex
๐ Online Theory Quiz
The Online Theory Quiz must now be completed on the CAMS Platform and becomes available once your child is successfully registered for the practical assessment.

Hereโs what to note:
- Participants have until 7 days after their practical assessment to complete the quiz (e.g. assessment on 1st July โ quiz must be completed by 8th July).
- There is no limit on the number of attempts. Participants pass by achieving 90% or higher.
- A one-time extension may be requested on the CAMS Platform before the deadline. This extension lasts one month and incurs an administrative fee of $5.
๐ Results & Certification
After completing the both the Online Theory Quiz and Practical Assessment, parents and participants can access the results and certificates digitally via the CAMS Platform.

Hereโs what to note:
- Practical assessment results will be available on the CAMS Platform within 48 hours of the assessment. Results include a breakdown of all tested criteria and highlight any areas not completed.
- Certificates from July 2025 onwards will be issued digitally on the CAMS Platform, available after completing both the practical assessment and online theory quiz for the relevant stage.
- Older certificates (pre-July 2025) can still be retrieved from FileSG via ActiveSG SwimSafer.
